Terms of Attendance and Participation

By registering for Basis Northwest 2026 (the "Event"), you ("Attendee") agree to the following terms and conditions with Basis Live, LLC ("Organizer"). If you are registering on behalf of another individual, you warrant that you have made them aware of these terms and that they have accepted them.
1. Registration and Admittance
Your registration entitles you to admittance to the Event only. All other costs associated with your attendance, including travel, accommodation, and meals outside of the Event, are your sole responsibility. The Organizer shall have no liability for such costs.
2. Fees and Payment
All applicable fees are due at the time of registration. If payment is insufficient or declined, the Organizer may refuse admission without liability. Fees are exclusive of applicable sales tax, which will be added where required. Once registered, fees will not be retroactively adjusted based on subsequent discounts, promotions, or rate changes. Invoice payments must be received within the timeframe specified in the invoice. Tickets issued via invoice are subject to cancellation if payment is not received by the stated deadline.
3. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Early Bird tickets ($479) are non-refundable. For Standard tickets ($829), cancellations received more than 30 days prior to the Event will receive a full refund minus a $100 administrative fee. Cancellations received 30 days or fewer prior to the Event are non-refundable. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to brent@taxalphainsider.com. Substitutions from the same organization are permitted at any time at no additional charge by contacting the Organizer.
4. Event Content and Changes
The Organizer reserves the right to modify any aspect of the Event, including but not limited to the name, themes, content, schedule, speakers, venue, and format, at its sole discretion and without liability.
5. Attendee Conduct
Attendees are expected to treat all staff, fellow attendees, speakers, sponsors, and service providers with fairness, dignity, and respect. No form of harassment, discrimination, bullying, or threatening conduct will be tolerated. The Organizer reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any individual who violates these standards, without refund.
6. Use of Likeness
By attending the Event, you grant the Organizer the right to record, photograph, film, or otherwise capture your likeness in any media and to use, distribute, or publish such media in perpetuity for promotional, educational, or archival purposes without additional approval or compensation.
7. Photography and Recording
Attendees may not record any sessions or presentations, in audio or video, without the prior written consent of the Organizer and the relevant speaker. Personal photography in common areas is permitted.
8. Sharing of Attendee Information
By registering, you acknowledge that the Organizer may share a list of attendee names, companies, and job titles with other registered attendees and Event sponsors for purposes related to the Event, including networking and sponsor engagement. If you do not wish to be included on this list, you may opt out during registration. Opting out will not affect your admission to the Event. The Organizer will not sell attendee data to third parties unrelated to the Event.
9. Identification and Badges
Attendees must present a valid form of photo identification at check-in. Badges must be worn at all times in Event areas. Badges are non-transferable once issued.
10. Add-On Sessions and Products
Certain sessions and products available at registration, including breakout sessions and subscriptions, are limited in availability and may sell out. Add-on purchases are non-refundable unless the Organizer cancels the session or product. Subscription products purchased at the Event will be activated within 48 hours following purchase.
11. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the Event content, materials, and branding, including the name "Basis Northwest," are owned by the Organizer. Attendees may not use or reproduce any trademarks, trade names, or Event materials without the prior written permission of the Organizer.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
The Event is provided on an "as-is" basis. The Organizer disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and merchantability. The Organizer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the Event. The Organizer's maximum aggregate liability for any claim arising from the Event shall be limited to the registration fee paid by the Attendee.
13. Force Majeure
The Organizer shall not be liable for the cancellation, postponement, or modification of the Event due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including, but not limited to, natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, acts of terrorism, or venue unavailability. In the event of cancellation due to force majeure, the Organizer will issue a full refund of registration fees.
14. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Washington. The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in King County, Washington.
15. Privacy
The Organizer collects personal information provided during registration for the purposes of Event administration, communication, and sponsor engagement. For details, see our Privacy Policy at basisconf.com/privacy. You may opt in or out of marketing communications during registration.
